Description

You can now install our rustic oak floating shelves on plasterboard walls with our new plasterboard fixings adding character to your home!

These stunning rustic oak floating plasterboard shelves are made by hand using only the finest quality character grade European oak timber. With distressed edges and textured surfaces, they have that aged and rustic feel. They are available in a standard size of 6″ or 8” deep, and the shelf thickness varies between 30-35mm. Price is per shelf.

Our range of colour finishes available is second to none. Our premium wood stains penetrate the timber deeply for a gorgeous finish, which is then further enhanced by a coat of wax polish.

Included with your purchase is the ultimate hardware solution for fitting these floating shelves into 9-15mm plasterboard walls. Strong and adjustable concealed floating shelf supports manufactured by Hafele, along with the innovative Gripit brown plasterboard fixing both come with your shelves. We also pre-drill the back of the shelves with a relief that will slot neatly over the fixing flush in your wall.

We always create the highest possible quality solid oak floating shelves. In order to minimise waste, we may manufacture floating shelves from two or more pieces of timber to create the required depth. By following strict industry standard techniques, this does not detract from the overall quality and actually results in further stability.

What you need to know!
  • Concealed shelf supports for plasterboard walls are included.
  • Kiln dried oak results in a sturdy and resilient shelf.
  • Our oak is sourced from trusted sawmills only.
  • We are oak experts!
  • Robust 1.5 inch thick oak is used.
  • A fast dispatch time of 10-12 working days.

Please keep in mind that since oak is a natural product, every piece may vary in grain, colour, cracks and knots. Do use our displayed colour samples as guides only, because the colours may appear slightly different, depending on the lighting and on the type of screen you are looking at them on. Dimensions stated here are approximate only. Post machining, our dimensions are accurate to 1/2″. We will not accept any of the above as defects.

Everything we manufacturer is professionally finished in-house using only the finest products. We achieve this fantastic range with wood stains which penetrate deep into the wood followed by a top coat of wax polish for protection.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee exact colour matches to existing furniture. Please use these colour samples as a guide only, as oak is a natural product colour variation can be expected.

We advise customers to always use drinks coasters to avoid water damage.

The following swatch gives a great example of how unfinished oak differs in colour and hence each piece can vary in colour once finished.

Check the largest face for the concealed bracket holes. A 6”x4” beam will have the holes machined in a 6” side. If you require anything different, please let us know by adding a note in the checkout.

We have recently started offering shelves with plasterboard-compatible fixings, up to 15mm thick. Click here to see them.

Working with natural raw materials in a non-factory setting results in some aesthetic variation. It is impossible to make every single shelf a complete match, and you can be assured that any shelf you buy will be totally unique to your home.

As wood dries, it is likely to crack. We can select wood that initially has no cracks, but are unable to guarantee that it will stay that way as it acclimatises to your home. Our kiln dried oak range is unlikely to crack at all.

Unfortunately not. The wax and stains used are not waterproof. Please use coasters if placing cups or vases on our shelves, to reduce risk of stains. Wipe away all spillages at once.

Our shelves are not waterproof, so while we can provide a water-resistant lacquer on our kiln-dried oak shelves, which will protect shelves in damp conditions to some degree, this is not 100% waterproof, so you will need to wipe water away, if you decide to install the shelves in your bathroom.
